Pic of the day – Raptor
I was waiting for the connecting bus, when across the street I noticed
a lean dark shadow spiraling overhead. My pulse always quickens when I
see a raptor overhead. I feel so lucky when I can get a photo. Last
time I saw one in this area it was an American EAGLE, which blew me
away. I don’t think that’s what this is, but I really don’t know what
it might be. I’m estimating it had about a two foot wingspan, maybe
two and a half, but I don’t really think so. Not a turkey vulture
and not the right area for one. A little large for a kestral /
windhover. Too small for an eagle, and the beak doesn’t hook enough.
I’m not good at bird identification.
