Pic of the day – More National Robotics Week (Water Tools)

Last week there was this great display of “water tools”, which
included a variety of robots as well as non-robot automated data
gathering and transmission devices. This exhibit was on the Diag on
the rainiest day yet this season, and in a sense it seemed appropriate
and ironic to have one of the final major visible events for the water
theme semester to be of water tools outside in the pouring rain. This
picture tends to be more along the lines of the latter category, or
information gathering and transmission, but I seem to recall it wasn’t
completely passive. This one was huge, measuring and comparing
measurements from both the surface, winds, and below the surface, as
well as waves. That assumes I remember it right.
