Pic of the day – A Late Green Rain

If this photo had been taken two months ago, it would have implied a sultry steamy heat, a welling up of growth and greenery. But today, instead, it is a determined persistence of green despite the chill and cold, the green that bears itself past frosts, as long as it can possibly endure, past when many other might have given up. That is the glory of being a kind of weed. Survival.
