Pic of the day – A Coupling of Crosses @meredithgould

My friend, Meredith, is getting married today, to a “preacher man.” In one sense, it is hard to imagine her being the Reverend’s wife, but from another point of view, it is perfect. As if her entire life was leading to this moment, this branch of the path. So, in honor of the day, this photo, of the two crosses.

I have rosaries all over the house. These two dangle from the kitchen pantry doors. One of them glows in the dark and is a little more intricate, while the other is plain white plastic, the kind of rosary they give children for learning. I’m used to seeing the one glowing, but last week there was one of those blessed late autumn days with the last of the warmth and sun pouring down. The sunlight struck the rosaries, and they both glowed, glowed, glowed. They glowed until you could hardly tell which was which.

“The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse declares the work of His hands.
Day unto day pours forth speech,
Night unto night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.”

Ps.19:1-3.
